Spoiler Alert – Pretty Little Liars fans are still reeling from the bombs that were dropped tonight during Season 4 Episode 21 “She’s Come Undone.” Before we address the obvious questions in everyone’s mind, Did Spencer Hastings try to kill Alison, here is the rest of your Episode 4.21 PLL recap.
Tonight on Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Episode 21 “She’s Come Undone,” Aria Montgomery literally “came undone.” Who could really blame the girl though? Aria was so distraught after learning that Ezra had been in a relationship with Alison DiLaurentis and was using Aria to research her death, that she was physically sick. She was upset that she literally threw up, and afterwards she marched into school to confront Ezra. To add insult to injury, he took a leave of absence from school and she couldn’t even cure him out. So, she headed to his apartment, and found he wasn’t there either. So, she did what any bitter and enraged girlfriend does, she destroyed it (I didn’t even realize Ezra had that many breakables in his apartment). She also found boxes and boxes of files, photos, and recordings he had on her and all of her friends. When her friends came to Ezra’s apartment to rescue her, Spencer stole a few of the files that Aria hadn’t destroyed.
Hanna Marin is single and ready to mingle! She may have done a little too much mingling in Episode 4.21 “She’s Come Undone.” First she tracked Travis down and apologized for kissing him and then ditching him. She learned that Travis’s Dad had to go to court for accepting bribes from Wilden, which never would have happened if Travis hadn’t told the truth and got Hanna’s Mom off the hook for murder. So, Hanna marched into the police station and begged Detective Holbrooke to go easy on Travis’s Dad. Hanna stalked Travis at the court building and found out that Detective Holbrooke decided to go easy on Travis’s Dad like she asked and he managed to avoid jail time. Hanna flirted with Travis at the court building and made plans to hang out with him tomorrow. Later that night she ran into Holbrooke at the café and hugged him to thank him for helping Travis’s Dad, then tried to kiss him. Holbrooke dodged her kiss though, and she ran out of the café mortified.
Paige’s dark side came out tonight on Pretty Little Liars. She realized Emily wasn’t being honest so she followed her to the post office where she was trying to mail Alison her money. She demanded Emily tell her who she was mailing money to or else she was going to go to the cops and tell them all about “A.” Emily caved and confessed to Paige that Alison was alive. Paige gave Emily an ultimatum, she told her that after she mailed the money she had to cut all ties from Alison, or else Paige was going to tell the police and her parents that she was alive. Emily mailed the money and gave Paige the cold shoulder, she didn’t like being told what to do. So, later that night Paige left a note in a Rosewood cop car saying that Alison DiLaurentis was alive, and listing the address that Emily was mailing the money to.
Tonight on Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Episode 21 “She’s Come Undone” we learned more about Spencer’s dark drug addiction. Apparently Spencer was popping pills the summer that Alison disappeared, and her Mom mentioned that “half the time she was on them she didn’t know what she was doing.” Aria revealed to Spencer that Ezra thought one of her friends killed Alison. So, curious, Spencer stole a pile of Ezra’s papers from his apartment when they were rescuing Aria from her manic episode. She found a business card for a private investigator, and on the back Ezra had written that the investigator was hired to follow Spencer. Back in Season 2 Spencer suspected her sister Melissa had something to do with Alison’s murder when she realized her parents hired a private investigator to prove her innocent. Spencer also found a page from Ezra’s book that said CeCe Drake and Alison’s Mom both witnessed Spencer and Alison fighting the night she disappeared, and Spencer threatened Alison with a shovel. But, according to CeCe she never went to the cops and told them because Mrs. DiLaurentis paid her not to.
